My name is Anna Collins and I have been involved with horses for over 45 years. They have been a constant in my life and my passion.
It has been my privilege to ride, handle, own, breed, back and bring on many horses and ponies in my life and each one has contributed to my experience, knowledge and education. To all of them I give my humble thanks.
From my earliest experiences with horses I noticed that horses other people didn’t want to handle or found difficult I was able to handle with ease and seem to have a sixth sense about their issues and a strong connection.
As the years went by riding and keeping my own horses at yards here and on the continent I remember being able to sense medical problems, picking up illness before other owners and often being asked my opinion by the vets when visiting a horse.
Some years ago I was reading an article about holistic treatments which included an item about Reiki, while I was reading I felt an overwhelming feeling that this was what I was doing and a strong urge to explore this avenue of knowledge and training.
I trained practised and worked very hard and found a way of working that was beyond all my expectations, it changed my life and I am now all I can be.
The horse is gods gifts to humanityFor many years I have been working in the West Country as an equine therapist. I am an equine Shiatsu practitioner, a Reiki Master specialising in horses and an animal communicator. Despite the success I have had in this holistic field of treatment and the teaching workshops, it became apparent to me, that there was a huge amount of misunderstanding between horses and the people that ride and care for them.
As I reflected on this problem, one of my daughters suggested that I should do some training in hypnotherapy, psychotherapy and counselling as a pathway to helping people.
When my training was complete, I started taking clients and gaining experience. As I worked, I noticed that horse riders were telling me how the confidence and self esteem sessions were improving their riding confidence using the techniques they had learned with me.
As satisfying as this work is, bringing both of these skills together and being able to make a difference to both horse and rider is what matters. Helping you become a team with understanding, confidence and kindness.
BE ALL THAT YOU AND YOUR HORSE CAN BE
SerenMartleaves Beacon Biege
This beautiful mare is the centre of my universe and is the inspiration and motivation for the work I do. I bought Seren from a really good friend of mine after she'd had a serious accident and was unable to look after the yearling. I have had her for nearly 10 years and she explodes the myth about chestnut mares and Welsh Cobs.
Seren is kind, easy to handle eager to please and a joy to be with. I have the most amazing mind to mind connection with her and she truly is a horse of a lifetime.
