This mare's owner, Louisa, was deeply concerned about how timid she was and her lack of confidence in general. She was difficult to catch, especially when in season, and was generally headshy. Easter was not badly behaved for the vet or farrier but it was clear that she was unhappy and stressed when either attended her.
Easter was very green for her age and Louisa felt that she had not been ridden much. As she has had several fouls it was possible that she may not have been backed as a youngster.
Having asked Easter's permission and scanned her body with my hands I very quickly felt a strong connection with this lovely mare. I soon began to feel very strongly that her first experience of people had not been good and this was the reason for her general lack of confidence. Energy healing was just the help she needed to gain back confidence in herself and to increase her self-esteem.
Easter went from strength to strength after each session and will now stand her ground with her gelding companion, allow herself to be caught and have fly repellant put in her ears. She even comes up the field to be caught! She is generally much more outgoing and self assured.

When Louisa saw how much help I had been able to give to Easter she asked me to treat Hobo, her 19 year old Welsh Cob gelding. Being arthritic, mostly in his front right fetlock, he was beginning to feel his age. Hobo is very pigeon-toed and is weak through his front legs and chest as a result of an accident. He has bags of character and is aware of his place in Louisa's heart.
After scanning and asking permission I felt that age and wear and tear had caught up with this nice chap, his arthritis was more widespread and he was feeling his hocks. I also sensed liver damage, to do with bad hay, all of this confirmed by Louisa. He had also had shoes fitted that were too small for him, again confirmed by Louisa, who had changed farrier because of this. Hobo enjoyed his session and is now more relaxed and not so 'in your face' as he was. He seems to feel better in himself, is more energised and is moving well. As he is now semi-retired he is led out with Easter on rides. Lousia has since done two Reiki workshops with me and is now Reiki practitioner.
SHINE - 26 year old maiden mareThis mare suddenly started to lactate. She had had a chequered career but is now owned and deeply loved by Vicki who has a wonderful rapport with her.
Shine had been lactating for 3 1/2 months. The vet could find no obvious physical reason why this should be happening and suggested a course of mare hormone supplement. The treatment made absolutely no difference to Shine, who continued producing milk, and the vet couldn't make any other suggestions to help with the situation. Vicki asked me if I could help as she felt very strongly that there was an emotional issue underlying the problem. Having asked Shine's permission to try to help her, I scanned her body and connected with her. She was very willing to accept the healing energy and I felt that she was holding a mass of trauma from the past that she was ready to let go of. She also allowed me some insight into her life.
Shine had been aware that Vicki had been planning to live abroad for a year or so and this seemed to be a real issue for her. In fact Vicki had dropped these plans and was staying at home. During the sessions with Shine I let her know that Vicki was staying at home and the milk began to dry up, although it did return when Vicki stayed away for a long weekend.
I also felt strongly that this kind, gentle mare was now feeling her age and was getting tired very quickly. This seemed a good time to retire her completely and I suggested to Vicki that spending quality time with Shine would still be important.
